FBS provides power in numbers with 8 employee benefit cooperatives in the State of Texas. A larger risk pool results in more competitive premiums and provides more stability with longer rate guarantees. Our cooperatives are governed by a committee of member groups that will oversee the proposal process for the benefit cooperative as a whole. By signing a Cooperative’s Interlocal Agreement, new clients can join without the hassle of the RFP process.
In 2004, it started with an idea from the Executive Director of Region 17, Dr. Kyle Wargo. The philosophy behind the Region 17 Employee Benefits Cooperative was to create a comprehensive benefits package with affordable rates that could be offered to the smaller school districts within Region 17.
FBS is the named consultant for several large purchasing cooperatives. The purchasing cooperatives have an in depth vetting process which is required of all vendors this gives you the confidence that our services have been vetted extensively. This also means that as a member of one these purchasing cooperatives you can obtain our full array of services without issuing your own RFP.
